Trust Officer – Trident Trust
JOB TITLE – TRUST OFFICER
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Trident Trust is a global corporate, fiduciary, and fund services provider, spanning 25 countries and over 1,000 staff. Our Trident Trust Sioux Falls, South Dakota office is currently seeking to hire a Trust Officer. The Trust Officer will report directly to the Director(s) of Trust and Fiduciary Service. In their absence, the General Manager, or other senior manager within the office, will provide management, instruction and guidance.
The Trust Officer will be directly responsible for the training, development, management and oversight of a small team of Trust Administrator(s) and/or Trust Administrative Assistant(s), as assigned to their team. The Trust Officer will provide clients with expert advice on trust and estate matters, creating and overseeing trusts under the terms of the governing trust documents. This role will participate in the new hire process as well as the Annual Performance Reviews for Trust Administrators. Trust Officers are responsible for knowing and following all company policies and procedures and to use that information for participation in department meetings.
Role & Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, legal or another relevant field.
3-5 years working in trust administration/management or combination of education and experience.
Experience with state and federal compliance laws and practices as related to trust accounts i.e., BSA/AML.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, cloud-based software, and willingness to learn new programs.
Experience managing or instructing others, training personnel, writing reports, correspondence, and procedures.
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Bilingual a plus (Mandarin or Spanish).
Strong, professional, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with an innate attention to detail.
Flexible and comfortable dealing with variable workload, frequently dealing with several ongoing matters, at the same time.
A sound understanding of various asset classes.
Share pertinent issues and resolutions with trust administrators, management, and office, to facilitate communication within the office.
Ability to be self-directed and delegate, as appropriate.
