The Corporate Transparency Act is Here: Now What? | David Warren

Join David Warren, Co-Founder and Chairman of Bridgeford Trust Company, as he presents a session on the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which came into effect on January 1, 2024, implemented by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Controversial and highly debated, the CTA aims to enhance corporate transparency to prevent and combat illicit financial activities such as money laundering and tax evasion. The act introduced new reporting requirements for LLCs, corporations, and other business entities, imposing harsh penalties for non-compliance.

During the presentation, David will discuss:

  • The CTA’s reporting requirements, exemptions, and penalties.
  • Privacy protections included in the CTA to safeguard beneficial owners’ personal information.
  • Privacy in a Transparent World: the CTA’s impact on trust and estate planning, and how individuals and entities might need to restructure their trusts and holding companies to maintain privacy and asset protection. This presentation is essential to ensure compliance and understand the broader implications of the CTA on privacy and asset protection in the U.S.

Turning Theory into Practice for Trusts & Estates | Michael Miranda

Join Michael for an exciting discussion on what can be done in 2024 to assist clients in developing an appropriate action plan both now and in 2025. The potential reduction in the Federal Estate “basic exclusion amount” on January 1, 2026, is causing many wealthy taxpayers to consider what actions they should take with respect to large gifts and other lifetime planning strategies.
Clients will be best served by consideration of planning techniques or series of techniques designed to maximize estate tax reduction and still maintain as much control of their remaining assets. Below is a brief overview of the topics that will be covered during the presentation.
